Plot

Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, a.k.a. penguin, plays a game in which he seizes the reins of Gotham’s criminal underworld. From melting makeup to filming in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about how they got into character during the production of ‘The Penguin.’ Colin Farrell fought hard to have his version of the Penguin in The Batman (2022) but failed. However, for his own series, the character is portrayed as an occasional tobacco user who prefers cigars.

I’ve never seen Farrell so invested in a character

An umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Graham Norton Likes: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). So the first episode is done and it was great.

It’s mobster Scorsese, but without the colorful language

I mean, yes, he’s wearing a fat suit, but you’d never know it. His attitude, body language, voice make you immerse yourself in the character and see only Penguin. He has no relation to any of the other living TV penguins, Burgess Meredith or Robin Lord Taylor. This is a New York mobster, a smart guy.

Very entertaining and highly recommended

The plot is simple, similar to Lord Taylor’s Penguin in CW’s Gotham. Tučniak is a middleman in a mafia organization. So far he’s been doing his time, slowly moving through the crowd, and then, with the effects of the Riddler blowing up the city’s seawall and the death of his boss in this movie, he sees a chance to move up in the world. Now begins the game of cross, double cross and I guess triple cross.
