Plot

An agnostic sex podcaster and a newly minted rabbi fall in love; find out if their relationship will survive their vastly different lives and meddling families. Originally titled “Shiksa,” which is also the last word in the first episode. I’m really enjoying this series, it takes me back to my single and dating days and leaves a smile on my face. It touches on very realistic and relevant topics (regarding dating and dating culture) at the same time and in a refreshingly unproblematic way, the way dating should be, honest dialogue throughout, no gimmicks. The chemistry between them is very on point (of course it helps that they’re both experienced, talented actors) and it’s a beautiful film that brings back all the nostalgic feelings of witnessing Kristen Bell since I watched “Veronica Mars” as a young girl. And Adam Brody, my husband, took one look at the TV and said: He hasn’t changed since The O.C., he’s right.
